Cute, Arrived on Time, Easy to Set UpCute, Arrived on Time, Easy to Set Up

[Color: Arctic Blue, Color: Arctic Blue]
I love the cuteness of it. I do wish the face on the clock was a bit more interactive during day hours. I have seen it blink a couple of times. I also wish that I could make the alarm different for the weekends and the asleep awake times different for the weekends. When you set it up, its just that set up for every single day. I'll just be making adjustments every Friday and Sunday night. It's a really cute clock and I'm hoping it will help my son to stay in bed longer and not be up playing at 2 in the morning. Also, I thought the light setting would be on all the time. Its not, you have to press light and there are timer options. The longest it stays on is 90 minutes. I was expecting to have the light on at all times. I think the sleep light setting might be on all night? I hope. We will find out tonight. I will definitely be recommending and probably buying a couple of these for my friends and cousins who also have little kids.

Great starter clock!

My daughter loves it and it’s teaching her independence when it comes to her morning and nighttime routines. The little face is really cute. It makes it feel like it’s a friend! I highly recommend

Amazingly good! Using as an adult ….

[Color: Blush Pink]
Look I’m an adult and I thought this was cute, and didn’t think it was super useful and it took me by surprise. You can set the time yourself and there are different options for the alarm sound and there is a sound button to listen to ocean waves or white noise. Theres a setting to where the face lights up in the morning and it lights up when it’s around bed time, it’s super helpful to cue me to wake up or go to bed. The alarm itself is loud. I set it across my room in college and I would always wake up to it. Not sure how the snooze function works. I literally know it’s for kids …. Man this alarm clock is literally better than most I’ve had that are actually for adults

Good product, could use upgrades

[Color: Arctic Blue]
I want to give the product more stars but I feel like it has so much more potential! What I like:Light weight, can set awake and sleep times, can set the light to be on or off, can lock it.What I wish it had:More customization; I wish it connected to an app on your phone so you could control it from there. My son leaves Mella alone right now (3) but he is so smart and I can see him figuring out the buttons on the bottom of if I am not careful. Also we taught them if mella is red to stay in bed but the on week days we wake up earlier than weekends and we have to go in and manually turn her off so he does not argue with us that mella is red so he has to stay in bed.I also wish it had more nap time settings.Overall I really like the idea and it works for what we need now but I do think this product has so much more potential!

The Miracle Clock!

[Color: Arctic Blue]
Our 22 month old has always been an early riser - so much so that there were plenty of mornings he would be awake and ready to go at 4:45. My husband and I tried everything to get him to sleep later - change his bedtime, use blackout curtains, bring him into bed with us, try to rock him to sleep again before we had to wake up for the day - you name it, we tried it. Then I thought that maybe a visual clock would work. I’m a special education teacher and we often use visual clocks and timers, so I thought, ‘Hey, there has to be something for toddlers out there.’ And what’ll you know. There is!I kid you not, this clock has been nothing short of a miracle. The first night we used the clock, my little guy slept till 5:40, which was the latest he’d slept for a long time. Not only that, but when I brought him back to bed to tell him he should stay in bed until “clock wakes up”, he went back to bed with no fuss and stayed there until I came back in and showed him his clock was “awake”. (We set the clock to wake up at 6:00.) The second night/morning was even better. He came in again around 5:40, but we kept the same routine - go bad to bed until clock wakes up. He went back to bed again. And slept until 7:00!!! (Again, I have to stress that sleeping this late has happened maybe 2-3 times in his entire life.) I should also mention that he had a tendency to wake up randomly in the middle of the night at times, but that has not happened since we started using this clock. After using it for nearly a week now, he is not waking up in the middle of the night, and now he doesn’t even get out of bed before 6:00. Our whole family loves this clock. My son loves it so much he even gives his clock kisses in the morning! It has exceeded my expectations in many ways and has really improved our whole family’s sleep. As far as features go, I am very glad it has a lock feature as my son does tend to press the buttons on the bottom. I love the fact that the clock has the “wake up face” and “sleeping face” - that has made all the difference. The lights are an added bonus, I suppose, but we haven’t really needed the lights. The cue for us is just whether the clock is sleeping or awake. The brightness also seems just right, but we already had a nightlight/sound machine that we had been using, so we don’t use this clock for either of those things. However, if I had known how beneficial this clock would be when I bought the sound machine, I probably would have just bought this one instead! I certainly wish I had discovered it much sooner than I did!

Great versatile product for all ages

[Color: White, Teal]
TLDR: great product that works exactly as describedInitial impressions: the clock is very well packaged, the box provides ample “cushion” for the clock to be handled and shipped safely. The clock came with a usb cable, usb wall plug, and a little booklet of directions. The clock itself is super adorable. I bought it for my 3 year old daughter and she instantly gravitated towards the happy little face and ball shape of the clock.First use: I read the directions very carefully. After reading reviews prior to purchase, it seemed like some people had issues with the clock alarming or glowing when it was not supposed to. After programming this clock for my use and reading all the instructions it is without a doubt User Error on the part of those other reviewers. You can choose to program the alarm, sleep trainer, nap timer, light, and noise all independent of one another. Since my intention for this clock was for the ready to rise function, I did not set an alarm. Additionally, once you program the clock as desired, you can choose whether or not you want it on or off by pushing the appropriate button. That is to say, if I programmed it to play music but my daughter changed her mind, I could simply push the music button and it would turn off.To my understanding of the instructions, you can only program one alarm or sleep/wake. But it is very easy to change, and must be done manually. I know there are other products that use an app and Bluetooth, but I chose this product instead because I needed something that was simple and easy and reliable. So far, I have found this clock to be just that.I love that the face changes as the day goes on, at first it’s happy and it’s eyes are open, and when it enters sleep mode it closes its eyes and “goes to bed”. It’s a great visual for my 3 year old. We did not use the night light function but I felt that there were a good variety of different colors to choose from, as well as brightness. The brightness of the colors may not be the same. For example, the brightest white will be brighter than the brightest purple - so choose accordingly.I think that it could use a few more sound options - however because that was not important to me in my purchase It’s not part of how I rate this product. We do use the lullaby noise because my daughter happened to like it just as much as her other noise machine. I simply turn on the music by pushing the music button when it is time for her to go to bed.We use this as a sleep trainer. It was the purpose for which I purchased this clock. I love that it glows yellow for play time and green to go ahead and wake up. The color change is quite obvious and clear, the face also changes accordingly from sleeping to a kind of little smile to a big smile. You can turn off the wake up light (or an alarm) by holding its little “hat” down. This is where I like having the parental lock because my daughter can’t turn off the clock or otherwise alter it.I researched 3 different ready to rise clocks and I am extremely happy that I went with this one. I can’t reiterate enough that the issues other users were experiencing must have been user error because following the instructions and little user tips makes using this clock very simple. It’s adorable enough that a young child would love it, but also modern enough that school age children and teens could like it and use it too.

Works pretty well; wish we could modify light brightness and almost-wake-up-time feature

[Color: Blush Pink]
TL;DR, on the whole I would recommend this product to others, even though we have some issues with the light brightness and the inability to modify the 30 minute yellow light pre-wake up feature. We got this for my then 15 month old to try to help him to know when he should lay down and go back to sleep, as he was waking up about an hour earlier than we would have liked in the morning. He loves this clock and points at it and talks about it frequently. He has been able to connect to the facial expressions (frequently points at it saying "eyes! eyes!") and definitely notices when the lights come on for waking up in the morning (every morning at the light change he gets up saying "clock! clock!"). I think he is using these features, as he has gotten better at laying back down until it's about time to wake up.Mostly we've found the clock easy to program. The only thing we didn't immediately figure out was how to dim the display. The default setting for the display was way too bright and this was keeping my son waking up too early and in the middle of the night. Even with no night light on, the display was essentially as bright as a night light. However, when we dim it to the dimmest possible display brightness (by pressing the "Clock" button), it's not too bright and doesn't wake my son up. We do not use the white noise (we have a white noise machine that produces a "whiter" noise) and we also don't use the alarms, as we're not trying to use this clock to wake up the baby up at a certain time. We primarily use the clock to try to signal when my son has woken too early and needs to try to lay back down and keep sleeping. The main drawback for us: all of the lights from the ring around the outside of the clock are just too bright for him to sleep with. This means that the night light feature is completely unusable for us. We indicate that it's sleep-time for him with the clock having a "sleep" face and no lights on. Unfortunately, the light brightness also means that when the yellow "almost-time-to-wake" light comes on, it wakes him up right away, even though the clock is ~10 ft. away from him across the room. I try to turn the clock away from him a bit, but there's only so much I can do that where he can still see the facial expressions. It's unfortunate that we cannot toggle this feature off or change the amount of time it shows before wake up time; it's fixed to turn on 30 minutes before wake up. We've gotten around this a bit by shifting the wake up by a half hour, so we basically let him get up when the clock turns yellow. It does mean that the clock functions more to actually wake him up, vs. letting him know if it's okay to get up when he wakes up naturally (what we'd prefer). Maybe I'll experiment with putting some kind of thin cloth over the outside of the clock so that he can still see the colored lights when he looks at it, but it's not so bright that it immediately wakes him up.While I'm making a wishlist of features, I wish I could program the nap times on the clock too the same way that night sleep times are programmed. Practically speaking, I'm just not going to go over to the clock and eff around with it to set some kind of timer for naps every time we put him down, and I also am not trying to wake him up after a specific nap duration, so the timer concept doesn't really work for us. My use case is just for the clock to indicate if it is _okay_ for him to wake up or if he should try to keep sleeping. I would like it if I could just point to it the way I do at bedtime and say, "Look, the clock went to sleep, so it's time for you to sleep."Overall, though, my son does understand that we put him to sleep when the clock is asleep and when the clock is sleeping, he needs to be sleeping, and he also understands that we will not be coming into his room before the clock lights up. He chats to himself in his crib until the lights come on, and only when there are lights does he start crying for us. So, overall, this product is still a win.

Super-cute, Easy to Set OK to Rise Clock

[Color: Arctic Blue]
We have had the Mella OK To Rise clock for about a week now. We absolutely love it! I knew I wanted an ok to wake clock for my toddler when we started to transition him out of his crib, but they are all so ugly and cheap looking; even the pricey ones! I love that Mella is sleek but still cute.Mella has all the features I was looking for: an ok to wake function with colored lights, a night light, a nap timer, and a sound machine. All the functions are intuitive and easy to set. The ok to wake function is set and forget; the others you do have to turn the unit over to press the buttons. But once you set all the different functions all you have to do is press one button.Things I'd like to see in future models:*the nap timer isn't set like the ok to wake function and I wish it was. My toddler's nap starts at differing times but always ends at 3. I wish I could set the nap timer to start whenever I press it, and end at the same time every day.*a way to preset sequences and turn them on with one button. The ok to wake function is always on, but I have to manually turn on the night light and sounds. Being able to set the ok to wake, night light, and sounds to run all together would streamline our bedtime routine.*Have the face sleep for naptime. My 2.5 year olds biggest gripe is that "Melly" doesn't have to nap when he does. He loves going upstairs at night to see if Melly is sleeping yet, and having that same experience for nap would be fantastic.*Link to an app. I realize this is a big ask, and for the current price I am not complaining, but being able to turn different functions on and off without going into my kid's room would be amazing.*Ditch the yellow "play quietly" light. Or be able to turn it off. My kiddo's not old enough to get it quite yet.All of these are just things that would make this an even more amazing product. The bottom line is: it works, it's easy to set and adjust the settings, it's super cute, and my kid adores it. He hugs and kisses "Melly" every night before bed, and loves that it's eyes blink. We will absolutely buy another one when/if we have another kiddo or my current toddler loves this one to death.
