My mother has limited sight so we do not like the rooms to be dark when she goes into them. These are motion activated as soon as someone hits the room the light comes on. It is perfect for our use. The room stays dark when no one is in it. It is also like a night light for us because my room is closest to the one with this light bulb and will come on if I make too much noise in my room. It give Mom a sense of independence to travel into this room

This light does what it says and more. When we go into the bathroom at night which is about 20 ft away from the bulb outside it comes on. They're two walls and an enclosed shower between the bulb outside and our bathroom. One wall is brick and the other drywall, the shower is fiberglass.

I'm using it outside in a light fixture that has metal in it. Competitors did not work in that fixture. Additionally, I previously had another model that would turn on everything I walked down the hall by my front door. This one is correctly sensitive to the outside without being overly sensitive through walls.

This is a difficult review to write. On the positive side, these work inside coach light fixtures where the other motion detector technology does not. They are plenty bright and the three that work pick up motion appropriately, stay on as long as motion exists and then shut off after 17 seconds when the motion has finished. Great for security around our home since I don't want the lights on all the time but also don't want anyone on our property, uninvited at night.The difficult part comes in that one of the 4 bulbs doesn't work property - it goes on and off constantly, motion or not. Moved it to another fixture but still does the same thing (all three are on the same circuit). I'm concerned that if I return it along with a good one (they come in packs of 2 so I'd have to return 2) and then get back two that don't work properly. Reading other negative reviews, the actions of the one that doesn't function properly seem to be a failure point for the product.On the other hand, once I contacted the company, they immediately made good on the defective product - best response from a seller on Amazon that I've ever experienced. I'm sure now that I will have 4 working bulbs.

Hard to believe that a self-contained lightbulb and motion detector could be so sensitive that a leaf blowing across the lawn or a branch moving in the wind would set it off from 10-15 ft away, but it does. It even triggered when the bulb was inside a glass enclosure.That extreme sensitivity makes it not work for light mounted outside my house - it goes on and off all night long - I just wanted it to go on when someone walked by. So it's too sensitive for my purposes.I tried to put it at the base of some stairs to light them when someone was going up and down, but, again, it was so sensitive, that when some walked around the house on the floor above the light (not on the stairs), the light when on. Again, way too sensitive.I did find that the area beneath the base is less sensitive, so if I am able to rotate the light bulb receptacle, I can find some limited uses for the bulb, just not the one I bought it for.If only there was a way to adjust the sensitivity, this bulb would be awesome.

I didn’t even know something like this existed! Replaced outdoor garage lights with these and they work perfectly. They are bright and sensor works well. The only down side is you can’t turn them on to stay on.So when we have company and want to leave them on you can’t. They only stay on for about a minute then shut off.
