I bought this two pack because we had a table lamp with a brass fitting that was wobbly and didn't light anymore. I tried retightening the wires, and it still didn't work, and the two sections of the brass wouldn't fit back together properly anyway, so It was time to replace it.I chose this pair of lamp socket replacements partly due to the good price for a pair, but to a large extent because the two sections screw together tightly rather than being a push fit like most of the brass ones. Also, as you can see from my photo, the lampshade has a harp fitting, so I didn't need the extra bits and pieces that many socket sets include.I'm very happy with the quality of the plastic and metal construction of these items. I was also pleased with how easy it was to disassemble the socket, wire it, and reassemble the socket again. The way that the top and bottom sections screw together is very neat and secure, so I doubt it will ever become wobbly like the brassy push-fit ones sometimes do. I'm very happy to have a safe and sturdy lamp base that works great, and I'll keep the other one stashed away, just in case I ever need to rewire one of our other table lamps.
