I wasn't certain that this globe would fit my older Hunter ceiling fan as the original dome measured 9.5 inches across the lip diameter. Easy enough to install. Just turn the retaining screws all the way back before attempting to install the globe. Handle with care when installing. For those who are wondering about the Hunter model number it's in one of the images I posted.

I bought this shade to replace one I broke on my porch fan while changing the bulb. It is bigger than the shade that was there originally but it looks great. I could not find a shade to fit the opening at any local store. Thank goodness I found it on Amazon. I thought I was going to have to replace the fan.

I needed a replacement for a broken globe. This size is very difficult to find for some reason. The title says "Fitter Size 7 1/2 inches" and the description and photo of this show a globe measuring 7 1/2" across the top. It actually measures 7 5/8", which was too large for my ceiling fan, which has a fitter size of 7 5/8". You need the glass to be slightly smaller because you can't force it in. Luckily I do stained glass and had a wet grinder to bring the size down to 7 1/2", which took a lot of time and effort. But just know this will only work with a fitter (fixture opening) size of 7 3/4" or 8". The globe quality and packaging was fine, but it took the seller awhile to get it in the mail, and 12 days to get to me.
