Brilliant little device, and so far it's very responsive to the remote signals.

Easy to use, works great, long range

I bought this for an outdoor fountain purchased elsewhere -- it arrived without an on/off switch. The fountain sits on a patio outside a pair of French doors, and I didn't want or need a lot of extra length, as there is an outdoor switch close by. I hadn't intended to look for a remote control, but it has proved very helpful. I don't have to open and close the doors and retractable screens each time I want to turn the fountain on. So far so good!

Just plug it in and it works like a charm. I use it to turn off our patio rock water feature when the wind blows too strongly.

I use this wireless remote control for an outdoor string light; it works well

I purchased this for an outside water fountain to be plugged in all the time and be able to turn it on and off when needed.Plugged in the device, put the battery in the remote, and it worked fine with no pairing needed.Next was to see if it would work through my outside waterproof electrical protection box.I have outside deck lights plugged in to a power strip and this device. Plugged everything in, closed the lid and the remote worked fine through the power box.

I originally wrote that no batteries were included with this and that the title was deceptive for saying that, but I bought the 2-port version and 7 batteries were included, so I guess I just got very unlucky with mine. Still, buy your own 12v/23a batteries if you get this just to be safe.Overall, the plug is 3 inches in length, not a lot of slack, and it doesn't fit into a tight space at all. It is only one outlet on this model, so that means giving up an outlet just to have this switch on most power adapters. The plug seems very weatherproof, though I will not be using it outdoors anytime soon. The remote is pretty small and lightweight. So here are some pros:1. The port device and the remote can be mapped to each other. They came mapped to each other already, but this meant I could remap them if I bought more later. Very versatile signal solution. I bought this because it wouldn't interfere with the signal of the other wireless ports I bought previously.2. The remote is a basic on/off switch, no extra buttons getting in the way. This is good if you just want something simple with no timer elements.3. The product is fairly cheap and easy to expand on.And some minor flaws:1. It is an awkward plug. It might not fit everywhere, so investigate the shape before buying.2. The length is very short, so you'll have a bulky box hanging from the wall outlet if you hook it up that way.3. The remote is likely to not come with batteries, and the type of battery used is an uncommon one you might not have laying around. Not a big issue, but it would have been better if it used a AAA battery.Overall, good product, especially for the price. It helped me out with my laundry room in my basement, which did not have a light switch. I just velcro'd the remote to the wall at the doorway and the job was done. Simple solution to a complex problem.

I bought this so I could turn off my outdoor fountain from the upper deck. It arrived very quickly. Plugged it in. I had power using the units main power button. But then using the remote, I tried to turn the power off. It did not turn off. I tried other appliances and the answer was always the same -- can't turn the power off. I know the battery was good because the light on the remote lit up when I pressed the button on the remote. So I called the seller. They were anxious for me to not return it to Amazon. They said we will ship you a new unit and don't bother to return the first one. That was on a Monday. Saturday the replacement outlet arrived. They did not send a new remote. Same problem as the first time. Cannot shut off the power. If it's a bad remote, why didn't they send one with the second outlet. They reached out to me via email to ask how the second unit was working. I replied that it failed and I was returning it toAmazon. I'm tired of messing with it. Customer service people were very responsive, but unfortunately that doesn't satisfy the non-working product issue.UPDATE: AFTER TELLING THE SELLER (HBN) THAT THE SECOND DIDN'T WORK, THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID TO ME VIA EMAIL. "We will ship you out a new set for free, just to make things right for you. You can still return the previous one back to Amazon if you want. We just feel sorry for what happened, and want to make our customers happy. " THE REPLACEMENT ARRIVED 5 BUSINESS DAYS LATER AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY. THEY HAD A BAD BATCH OF UNITS. THOSE THINGS HAPPEN. THE IMPORTANT THING WAS THEY WERE DETERMINED TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ME. I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.
