Small Square LampShades

Five years ago, I moved long distance, and during the move the square lamp shades for my two stick lamps were damaged—cracked and smashed. I searched everywhere, including Amazon, but couldn’t find replacements in the same square shape and color, so I kept the damaged shades until I moved again last month. This time, I decided to search Amazon once more and found these lamp shades. They’re slightly taller and narrower than my originals, but they look just as good on my stick lamps. The light shining through outside fabric create a warmer, more inviting atmosphere in my space. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I bought a new lamp with a round shade, but my other lamps in the room have square shades, so I bought this to make the new lamp match. Some comments indicated that the shade was difficult to assemble, didn't look fully square, and/or had an insightly seem... I don't have any of those issues, it was quick and easy to assemble, looks nicely squared, and the seem is barely noticeable, plus for me it's in a corner so not an issue. The one thing about the Velcro seem is that it does flare out slightly at the top and bottom, as shown in my second picture. Thus far that would be the only possible negative I see... But the shade did what I wanted and seems to be off comparable quality and structure to the round shade it replaced, so I'm happy...

Likes the shades. Great price. Cannot get them to fit the size of the socket. They are loose because the metal adapter does not fit properly, but the shades are pretty. I am figuring out how to make it stay put, but otherwise love the purchase.

I love these shades! I needed a replacement for my nightstand lamps and decided to try these. They were easy to assemble and look terrific. The quality is also good. I was skeptical at first knowing I had to "assemble" them, but it was well worth the purchase and very reasonably priced. They also give off the perfect amount of light for my needs.

I was skeptical reading all the reviews, especially since there were other options of buying entire lamps that were only slightly more expensive than these shades. However, having invested a great deal in my modern lamps, replacing the old shades was 100% the way to go. They arrived flat packed and only took 2 minutes to snap together. What you MUST pay attention to (don’t discard the instructions) is the fact that these shades ship with an adapter ring so the shades will work with smaller lamps. Throw away the adapter rings and you’re out of luck. And some have mentioned that the Velcro edge is visible. To be honest, this is not a problem if your lamp will be placed in a corner. If it’s meant to sit in a living room where people can view it from 360 degrees, the edge is nominal at best. The trick is to ensure you use care when bending and joining the edge with the Velcro. Super easy. Best bang for the buck. Love this purchase as it extends the life of my classic postmodern lamps.

Pros: Easy to assemble. Includes adapter rings to help fit to smaller diameter lamps. Nice style/color.Cons: Very thin and cheap feeling. Velcro closure leaves an ugly seam on one corner. There is some light leak at the corners...which is cheap-looking.VERDICT: They function...and that's about it.
