Just what I needed for some custom step lighting from my patio to firepit. I needed a low-voltage light that would flush mount to some dock-style step borders made from 6" fence post in random lengths. The diameter of the outer flange is a hair under 2" so I was able to counter sink them into the posts using a 2" mortise bit. Then I bored a 1-3/4" hole for the body of the light, then a 1/4" hole to run the wire out the other side. I think the end result was perfect for pur rustic outdoor setup. The LED lights are bright enough to cast out and down to illuminate each step all the way across withouht being overbearing. The construction of the light seems to be solid and the wire sheath is pretty thick but very flexible. The wires are pretty thin (i'm guessing about 22-24 gauge) but I dont think there will be any issues as all of the wiring is sheathed and buried under deco rock. Overall, I'm really satisfied as long as they last!
