This lamp is heavier than I expected, heavy enough to feel substantial. I chose this one over others because of the length at 11" for the length of the green, glass shade. I've always wanted one of these lamps, mainly because it makes me feel as if I've been transported to another era. How classy and elegant this piece is. But it's more than just a pretty face; I appreciate the reach of the illumination, especially if I want to write in my journal before I go to bed, which was my initial reason for getting a different desk lamp.
