I bought these to replace a failed socket in a lamp that had been converted from a kerosene lamp. They looked just like the one I needed to replace and were not expensive so I went for it. The sockets work perfectly, are solid and easy to wire. HOWEVER they did not have the small hole with screw in the base that I needed to secure the socket to a plate in the lamp to secure it. By wedging clay around the base of the socket I was able to to make it secure so it wouldn’t wobble. The antique switch knob also fit perfectly. All’s good.
