We have a senior dog that sleeps with us at night. She is going blind and has become anxious when we turn out the lights. We installed a night light so she could navigate easily to her water dish but we found that it wasn't enough as her eyes have become steadily worse. So we placed a lamp with one of these amazing bulbs on our dresser. It illuminates the whole room with infinite options of colors and brightness. These options are easily controllable by our cellphone. We experimented with reducing the brightness of the bulb to the point where it was bright enough for our dog (20%) but not so bright to affect our sleep. Mindy and us now sleep comfortably through the night. Her night anxiety has been completely eliminated. Though we use this for our dog, it would work great for babies and/or kids who also experience night anxiety. This bulb is an excellent value with unparalleled technology.

I wanted to try a sunrise alarm clock to help me get out of bed in the morning, and realized I could do so cheaply using this smart bulb in my bedside lamp. It works great right out of the box and is super easy to use and set up. It works with Google Home, but I found the Kasa app to have even more use and functionality. I love that I can set it to gradually turn on in the morning, and it usually wakes me up before my regular alarm. The Circadian function is beautiful; it automatically adjusts the brightness based on the time of day and sunrise/sunset so it's not glaringly bright first thing in the morning or at night. I love that you can adjust the warmth of the light as well because I prefer a warmer, yellowish light in the bedroom. I haven't messed around much with other colors but it's cool that that's an option. The only downside is that you have to use the app or a widget on your phone to turn it on and off and the lamp has to be turned on at all times, so it's not as easy if other people want to use it.

So far so good. Though it’s only just been installed today it works and does have the color picker which is great. My only wish would be if it had hex color support. If it does I can’t find it. Was trying for a certain hue and it’s so close almost perfect, almost. Still so many to choose from and easy to adjust.Anyway it was easy to install, screw it in, sign up, connect. The connecting part was slightly confusing as you had to connect to their wifi I guess like a temp network also and switch back but only took about 10 minutes for everything to set up and now I’ve got great mood lighting.Hoping it lasts for a while.

I installed this Kasa bulb in a lamp and it worked almost instantly — setup was easy, no hub needed, and it connected fine to my 2.4 GHz WiFi. The color-changing + dimmable features are great: I can pick from a wide range of hues or set cozy warm-white light, and brightness control is smooth. It plays nicely with voice assistants (Alexa / Google), which makes it convenient if you prefer hands-free control. The light output is bright enough for a medium-sized room (roughly equivalent to a 60W bulb), but when on colored modes it feels more ambient than ideal for focused tasks.

I love it! I probably should’ve gotten two, but I use the one lamp all the time! And it was very easy to connect to my Alexa and my phone and also easy to control. The only issue is that it’ll stop working for a bit sometimes and I’ll have to reconnect it by turning off and on my lamp, but it’s an easy fix! I’ll also warn that it isn’t that bright and more on the soft side so unless you prefer soft light, I wouldn’t use it as the main light source.

I recently purchased the Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Bulb, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! Setting it up was incredibly easy—just follow the straightforward instructions provided, and within minutes, I had it connected to my home Wi-Fi and ready to go. The Kasa app is user-friendly and intuitive, making it simple to customize settings, schedules, and even create lighting scenes. One of the standout features for me is the wide range of brightness and color options. From warm white to cool daylight, and a vibrant spectrum of colors, I can create the perfect ambiance for any mood or occasion. Whether I'm watching a movie, housecleaning, or just winding down after a long day, the Kasa Smart Bulb allows me to set the mood effortlessly.I also love the integration with my smart home devices. It works seamlessly with Alexa, and I can control it using voice commands. No need to get up to turn off the lights—just say the word! The scheduling feature is another highlight, allowing me to set my lights to turn on and off automatically, which is perfect for home security and energy savings.Overall, the Kasa Smart Bulb has exceeded my expectations. It combines functionality, customization, and convenience all in one. If you’re looking to upgrade your home lighting experience, I highly recommend giving the Kasa Smart Bulb a try. It’s a fantastic addition to any smart home!

I love these things and I have three of them now. I never have issues with connectivity other than needing to turn my VPN off. It is SUPER convenient to be able to control them totally from my phone. The price is crazy low for what you get and so worth it. They've worked in every working lamp I've put them in and other than a brief setup are pretty much plug and play. I love the built in slider for color temperature in the app and the automatic mode. I also like that the packaging is very minimal and almost entirely cardboard while still protecting the bulbs really well.I do wish that they could do patterns of different colors but honestly for the price I'm not taking off any stars for that. I also don't use Alexa or anything so I can't speak on that, but it's absolutely not necessary to use them. I just use the app.

I have over a dozen of these Kasa smart bulbs in my house, and I've used them for over a year now. Overall, these are a solid and affordable entry-level smart bulb.Installation is a piece of cake. Simply unscrew the old (standard) bulb, and screw the Kasa bulb in its place. Then follow the instructions in the app to configure the bulb with your wi-fi.To be clear about how these work: DO NOT flip the wall switch on and off. Turning the switch off will kill power to the bulb. The wi-fi chip inside the bulb always needs a small amount of power in order to receive the command to turn the light on. When you want to turn the light on from your phone app, or Alexa device, these devices will send a command to the bulb over wi-fi. If the bulb has no power, it cannot receive this command. So LEAVE THE WALL SWITCH ON ALWAYS, and simply use your app or Alexa to control the lights.Of course, you COULD continue to use the wall switch as normal, and the lights will go on and off properly. This is actually quite convenient when guests are unfamiliar with how the bulbs work. However, if you plan to use the wall switch routinely, you lose any smart functionality, and there's no point to buying these bubs.Unfortunately, the bulbs seem to have a flaky wi-fi connection, and the app occasionally loses the ability to communicate with the bulb. Every day or two, I have to flip the wall switch off and then back on to "reboot" the bulb's wi-fi chip. Then you're good for another couple days.In terms of brightness, these are advertised at 800 lumens. I have 5 of them in my dining room chandelier, and it certainly provides more than enough light for eating, and for craft projects on the table. In the living room, the ceiling fan has 4 of these bulbs, and it does seem a little dim at times when reading. I wish the bulbs went up to 1,000 lumens or more.Of the 12+ of these bulbs I own, one went bad within a few months and I had to replace it. The rest continue to work.Overall I give these a B+.
