So I transformed an extra room in my home to make it more of a luxe beauty studio. I wanted a statement piece without going over the top. I guess you could say I wanted a quiet statement. This light did not disappoint. It has beautiful uplighting, so it doesn't just cast down to the floor it lights the ceiling as well as gives you light all in the room without focusing and centering. It just down onto a certain object. And flooding the room. It was one of the last pieces that I purchased and completed the room. If you're hesitant, don't be. It's well worth the purchase!! I'm a female and I installed it myself. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra pair of hands to hold it to the ceiling while you're adjusting things. But it can be done where there's a will. There's a way go for it. It's beautiful, great purchase.!!

This two-piece light fixture looks good and has a style like something you might see at Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, or Restoration Hardware. The fixture is lightweight and easy to install if you have any experience with ceiling fixtures. The fixture is light enough to not require a reinforced ceiling box. Take your time and be gentle with the drum shades and diffuser panel since they can be easily dented or damaged. All the necessary parts are included which is helpful.This fixture looks best with “soft white” or warmer color temp bulbs – I would not recommend using with “daylight” (5000k) or cooler temps. The shade has a subtle "tan" color to it, and there's just a bit of texture to the shade that keeps it interesting and a more upscale. The color and texture are subtle enough to accommodate most decor and color schemes.This fixture is a good value if you're looking for a upscale look without breaking the bank.

This semi-flush mount drum light would look good with almost any decor. It is appropriate for elegant as well as casual. With four light bulbs, it would be best for a room that is no more than about 10' x 12' like a bedroom, small dining area, or even a home office. It is probably not a good for task lighting in a kitchen or bathroom. Of course, the type bulb you use also enters the equation.I ordered the Beige drum which has a linen-look fabric. It came well packed and easy to assemble. The matte metal parts are black with a hint of brown and were packed in individual bags to prevent being scratched. And, all installation parts are included with a piece of paper with instructions.20" diameter and hangs about 12.25" high from ceiling to bottom of fixture. The down rod is a 4" metal tube.It has a frosted white diffuser on the small lower layer to cover the light bulbs and tone down the harshness of the light. The smaller lower section is suspended by three metal tabs that hang on a metal frame on the larger section.Lighting seems to be expensive now, so I feel like this is a good value ($90 at time of review) for the size and quality of this light.Tip #1: While the light is easy to assemble, it is easiest by attaching the tube to the light fixture first.Tip #2: If you have never installed a hardwired light before, watch some videos or read up on it before attempting.
