This desk lamp is nicely designed and looks great. The only problem is that for a desk lamp, the on/off switch is on the cord which in most setups will inconveniently fall behind your desk.

I bought this light to replace a more traditional bedside lamp as I needed a light more focused on what I am reading. I loved the gold finish and modern style but the shade of the lamp cannot be adjusted and I found the glare to be uncomfortable.

This desk lamp has dignity! It's not like those $20 lamps that thousands of people buy and then have to throw away. My first criteria: can my aesthetic sense be pleasantly nudged every day by this lamp? Yes it can! This lamp should be featured in an expensive magazine.Things done right: 1) Very nice packaging for safe shipment; 2) An enduring, functional piece that will last for many years; 3) Good use of a standard (E-26) light bulb for easy replacement; 4) As I said before--STYLE!Suggestions: 1) I could not find an UL sticker, tag, or printed logo attached to the lamp or switch, so get that done; 2) It was hard to find the maximum LED wattage allowed (finally did) and the 5 watt bulb is too short on wattage for reading and studying financial documents; 3) Dimmer is not that important for a desk lamp and one merely needs strong clear light; 4) Situate the switch a bit closer to the lamp for easy reach.Want to create an attractive and respectful work environment? Want value AND aesthetics for your money? Get this lamp.

Item is great, but I did have to reorder it. First package was missing a part. I emailed the comapny directly and never heard back so I returned it and placed another order as I really like the item. Second order had all the parts and it is a great lamp.
