I have other dimmable lights of similar design and wattage that are much brighter at lower levels than these bulbs. They do not appear to be linear at lower levels than these bulbs other bulbs. The dimmer has to be at a certain position before the correct light intensity kicks in. The head of the bulb is smaller so that may have something to do with it but they are the same rating so brightness should be the same.

I like these bulbs. Using them in a ceiling fan and they fit well and look good. They dim well, but only use about half the travel of the older slide dimmer installed in the wall. Fully up is full brightness, but they turn off when the slider is only about 1/2 way down. The dimming action is smooth however, so it's OK. At some point, I will install a newer wall control.
