This lamp is so fun. It looks exactly like the old school bank or library lamps. It is very sturdy and strong. We have this sitting on our desk in our office area. The desk is not a normal desk so it is a bit narrow but this fits on it nicely. The light is very bright but you could easily change the bulb if you need to. The green on the shade is a nice bright green, like I stated earlier, it looks just like bank lamps from back in the day. The switch to turn it on and off is one of those pull types. It lights up a room nicely and would work on any desk or office area. If you want a fun retro type, this is a great find.

We have one of the older, original banker's lamp and it is a little heavier than this one. But, other than that, they have done really well capturing the original look of the lamp. I love that it has felt on the bottom so that it doesn't scratch your furniture. I really wish it had the ability to dim it, but that was not a deal breaker because the price makes it a great value.If you like the old school look, this lamp's for you!

This desk lamp takes me back to my days in the college library. Very nice, classic look and excellent quality. All measurements in the description are accurate. The construction is solid with no defects. It has a nice solid base with good weight, so it is not top heavy. Also has a felt base to protect your desk top. One area I checked was the bottom edge of the glass shade. Often glass objects, such as this, can have a sharp unfinished edge that present a cut hazard. I am happy to report that this does not. All around excellent choice. I highly recommend.
