Since the instructions are lacking, you change the temperature of the light by turning the light on, off, on, quickly. After 3 seconds it will remember the temperature you choose. However, it's not permanent. For example, if you decide to leave the room and turn off the light, but forget something and turn the light back on, you will have to cycle through the temperatures to get back to your choice. A switch would have been more ideal to choose temperatures. Otherwise, it's a decent light, and my daughter loves it. Just, every time I go in her room, the light is a different temperature...My opinion on dimability is irrelevant since I care not to use that feature
