Easiest Apple Home setup I've done so far. Lots of settings, versatile, and so easy my other half uses it via Siri as much as I do — and she hates Siri. All controls I need are in the Home app.

Required a lot of trial and error to get these to work. Essentially, if they don't pair on the first try, you have some fun ahead of you. Once they work, they're great.Here's a set of tips I collected while looking around the internet. I tried all three of these steps, and it worked on the third step for one bulb.The other bulbs did not work with just the third step, so I think you might need to do all of these:First step you only need to repeat once for each bulb: Delete your saved password for any 5GhZ Wifi (you can add it back after you're done with all your bulbs), so you only have your 2.4GhZ wifi password saved. Make sure bluetooth is on.Reboot your iPhone before you begin - NOTE - turn your phone on and off for EACH bulb.I brought a lamp near my WiFi router to pair each bulb. Setting them up in the desired location didn't work - but I can still control them from wherever they've ended up.Pair with HomeKit. If it doesn't work, try this1: TURN OFF - wait 10 seconds (manual says 5 seconds2: TURN ON3: As soon as you see light - TURN OFF (if I let them flash for more than a second, the process didn't work - so like as soon as you see them turn on - turn 'em off)4: Wait 1 second5: TURN ONRepeat steps three to five, EIGHT times - so including the first turn on, turning them on 9 times.You get what you pay for. The instructions say to turn on/ off 5 times, and wait for them to flash through their cycle on each on/ off. This did not work for me. Required disabling the 5GhZ network, turning them on and off, rebooting my iPhone between bulbs.

I replaced all of my lights with these (24) and have had them for a year now. The first 6 months they would randomly not respond to HomeKit or the Meross app and periodically turn on for no reason. About 6 months ago, Meross released a firmware update and it fixed everything. I have not had a single issue since. If you see a bunch of negative comments they are most likely taking about the old firmware. I highly recommend these.I think I saw somewhere to not use these on dimmer switches. I have 14 on dimmer switches and they work perfectly - no flickering or humming. It might just be bad for the bulb or reduce WiFi strength (just a guess), but I can confirm they work dimmer switches.Note: These were a slight pain setting up. I assume it was because of the previous glitchy firmware. I had to attempt pairing a couple times on each bulb before it worked. I’m still giving 5 stars because they work flawlessly now and work seamlessly with HomeKit and Apple’s Shortcuts.

I like that I can use them with both HomeKit and the Meross app without the requirement of a HomePod. The ability to change the light temperature and color has really helped my eyes as well. I spend a lot of time working on multiple screens so having the right work light is top priority. These bulbs give me all the control and adjustability to give me the perfect light every time. Using the red color on 10% give or take in the middle of the night if you need to get up for something is absolutely perfect for not straining your eyes with bright white lights.Connection was super easy, and I have even moved the bulbs around without having to set them up again each time. ON IPHONE ID RECOMMEND CONNECTING TO THE HOMEKIT APP FIRST, THEN WHEN YOU OPEN MEROSS IT WILL POP UP AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HIT ADD AND NAME IT.SUPER EASY. FIRMWARE UPDATE AVAILABILITY IN MEROSS APP. GREAT PRODUCT, I’m currently installing many more of these bulbs in any socket that will help make my life better. Price is great and again I love the fact that I don’t NEED to have a HomePod or Alexa system setup so there’s no remote access. Only invited parties logged into the homes WiFi have access. I believe a smart device shouldn’t be any smarter then needed so these bulbs are perfect for me. These are the first “smart devices” other then my tv and computers I’ve been willing to install in my life.Only thing I wish is that they offered larger packs so people that want to buy, say, 25+ bulbs at a time can get a better deal on them. Some other brands that require at least a lighting hub to control the smart lights sell bulbs much cheeper as well as in many more size options but I don’t have any first hand experience on the quality of those and again I couldn’t possibly complain about my MEROSS. WiFi reception is outstanding, couldn’t believe I didn’t need to extend my signal for some of my lights.

I've had good luck with other Meross products (garage door opener, smart plugs, etc), so figured I'd give these light bulbs a try.  I sure am glad I did. These light bulbs connected very easily.  You plug them in, launch the app and they just connected the first time.  No hub needed.  No troubleshooting.  Super easy.  And since I have my Meross app connected to my Google Home and Alexa apps, the light bulbs magically appeared in both apps without any prompting.  It is as easy as screwing in a lightbulb! The different lighting options for the bulbs are well thought out.  You have your typical blue, purple, green etc (not sure when I'll actually use those, but they are nice to have to impress the kids!).  The real feature for us adults are the multiple "white" options and the dimmer function.  The different white colors are great - bright white for when you're reading or a softer white at night for watching tv.  The dimmer functionality in the app is easy too - just drag the circle from 0-100%. I also noticed a very fast reaction time for these bulbs.  Almost no lag from when I call on them to do something in the app  or via my Alexa and Google Home.One final thought - I have a ceiling fan/light combo that uses a remote control.  I always found that annoying - remote would go missing, batteries would die, etc.  I briefly considered swapping the whole thing out for a smart unit, but I just used one of my smart bulbs in the fan light and it works great!  I can't believe I didn't think of that earlier. The price for the 2-pack at $13 is very affordable.  There might be others slightly cheaper, but I have confidence in Meross products and am willing to spend a few more bucks.  There are also plenty of expensive bulb options out there as well - I couldn't imagine what those would give me that these Meross bulbs wouldn't.   In the end, I plan on buying many more of these Meross bulbs to add to various locations around my house.  You should too!

I installed this two pack of bulbs in my office where I've been working at home for the past six months or so. Installation was as easy as screwing in a light bulb ( I sense a how many people does it take to change a light bulb joke here...moving on). Setup was a breeze as well, just open up the Meross app, click the + sign at the top, select smart bulb and then follow the prompts through setup. I experienced zero issues setting up the bulb, which is something I cannot say for some other Mercury brand smart bulbs I own that can be a pain in the butt.These smart bulbs give you the ability to easily control not only the color of the bulb, but also the temperature (2700K to 6500K) of the bulb. There is a spinner will that gives you preset temperatures. This is important when I work in the office as I don't like the bright white / soft blue temperature (6500k) and prefer the warmer 2700K. I put the old bulb back in the other socket and then adjusted one of the smart bulbs to 2700K and I can not tell a difference between the warmth of the old bulb next to the Meross smart bulb set to 2700k. Needless to say, I really like this feature.Adjusting the colors of the bulbs are just as easy. There is a spinner wheel of colors to choose from. The colors change quickly; however they could be brighter. The one thing Meross needs to add is a way to match colors on multiple bulbs. Right now I set a shade of blue for bulb 1 and then have to get a close as possible on bulb 2 to get them to match. A way to pair the bulbs with the same color would be helpful.I really only have two minor cons. The first is that there is no preset scenes in the app that works with the color mode. Some other bulbs I have used give you the option to set scenes like a rave or Christmas or disco. Its not necessary, but I personally think it would be a cool feature to add.The second con really applies to every smart bulb that I have bought over the years, is that the lumens need to be higher. A higher lumen count would make the bulb brighter and it would really help when you use the bulb with a set color.Overall, I'm very happy with the bulbs and at this price for a two pack, its hard to beat.

They’re very easy to install and set up. Work great with Alexa and integrate automatically. I really like using the color reel set up in the Meross app and that they have a separate reel for the white colors ranging from warm to natural white lights. The color options (though not all) are also available in Alexa as well as ramp brightness. I set up one with alexa in my bedroom as a wake up light and it will gradually brighten in the morning to wake me up naturally without an annoying alarm. I use the others in my dining and living room areas for mood lighting and they work great with alexa.Things I hope they can improve in the upcoming updates would be to separate the color reel and the brightness reel as they’re too close and make it hard to change one without accidentally changing the other as well. Also integrating the color reels into Alexa would be awesome as not all the color shades are available in Alexa. Sometimes when I unplug the lamp or turn off the power source, these lightbulbs will reset when turned back on and had to be set up again. So I hope a future update can fix this problem.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. They have pretty much all functions of the Philips hue lights but a lot more affordable.
