As we were preparing to put our house on the market, our agent opined that our family room would look bigger if we removed the ceiling fan. This fixture was the perfect replacement. It's stylish, low-profile and aesthetically appealing (I hoped) to most potential buyers. And it's a very reasonable price! I loved it so much, I'm putting one in the family room of my new house! Recommend.

Nice light, classy, though lousy instructions, difficult to install-definitely need two people and two ladders. Also, only one of the two light fixtures ordered came on time. Still waiting for the 2nd one to arrive.

The Newburgh 3-light ceiling light is lovely and practical. Not your typical ceiling-mount light. We chose it because we use a lift in our bedroom to get my husband in and out of bed. Needed a light that was close to the ceiling. [Note: Getting the glass cover on was tricky, but we managed it.

Beautiful and well-constructed light fixture. Installation is different that similar light fixtures (at least the many I have installed). The instructions direct you to attach the mounting plate to the electrical box and then connect the wiring to the fixture. Next, you attach the arms to the canopy (the metal "dome" that will fit against the ceiling) and the arms to the glass shade. While this is accomplished the fixture has to hang by the wiring or be held in place by a second person. The last step is to attach the entire light assembly to the mounting plate. In my case, the machine screws sticking down from the mounting plate had to be screwed in (shortened) so the round nuts would tighten the canopy against the ceiling. You can check this and adjust the screws before wiring and connecting everything. There is not a lot of clearance for fitting those two screws through the holes in the canopy and attaching those little round nuts. Not sure why they just didn't engineer hooks to the end of the arms for attaching the shade.The fixture is packed very securely in three pieces of styrofoam (photo). Maybe we've lived too long on the Left Coast, but I've grown to hate styrofoam with a passion. Environmentally it's pretty disgusting and, at a practical level, it takes up a lot of room in the trash. I always try to break it up which means my garage ends up covered in foam bits. Maybe Livex could pressure the Chinese assembler to go back to cardboard.
