This little lantern is impressive! It uses 6 AA batteries which some might consider a downside. However, if you lose power during a storm you would not be able to recharge a rechargeable lantern. With this you just pop in new batteries for immediate light. Because they are small and fairly lightweight my 2 elderly neighbors each have one.I definitely recommend this sturdy lantern and the flashing red light is a great way to signal for help.

This LED lantern runs on AA batteries, which initially felt outdated compared to rechargeable models. After using it though, I appreciated that it stayed on all night off one set of batteries and gave off a nice warm light. It does burn through batteries fairly quickly if you use it constantly, and I still wish there was a rechargeable version, but for camping or emergencies where power isn’t available it ended up being more useful than I expected!
