It’s pretty and just the right size for beside my bed however it is very bright so if it had a dimmer I would give it 5 stars, need to find out if I can get a less bright bulb.

Ball was too bright it ruined the effect of stained glass. I’m not sure this was actual glass, but I didn’t want to spend more money on another bulb like other people talked about in their reviews

I love Prarie, Craftsman, Frank Lloyd Wright homes and decorating. We have Craftsman FLW lamps, furniture, books and decor gracing our home.We bought a Stickley Style bedroom set from Amish carpenters for our new house a few months ago. The highboy needed a lamp but all the lamps we had caused the light bulbs to shine on our eyes.I saw this lamp, realizing that the light would shine up, instead of under a shade and would be the right lamp for our new highboy.The lamp.is well made and works well. There is a switch on the cord to control the light.The lamp *is* real stained and copper wrapped glass. It is lightly coated with oil to prevent rusting while it is in transport. The company includes disposable mittens to clean the oil off the lamp. This step is essential! Make sure you use the provided cloth mittens and carefully clean the glass before using this lamp.The lamp is more a night light than a reading light. We have other sources of light in our bedroom to read with. However, I turn on this little light every day before dusk so our room will be comfortable and inviting when we decide to go into the bedroom as it gets dark. It gives just enough light to make the room comfy, hugge and beautiful.I replaced the bigger bulb the lamp came with a smaller LED bulb. I found the big bulb shone right through a clear piece of glass and a smaller bulb worked better. Most LED C7 or E12 bulbs will work. I prefer a warm white LED bulb to prevent heat build up that incandescent bulbs will cause.It is the best lamp to place on a high price of furniture or shelf so light doesn't shine in your eyes. It pairs beautifully with our Stickley bedroom set and the mica shade round shaped lamp on a night table.Exactly what I wanted. My husband even commented on how nice it looked. He rarely notices things like this.I'm very glad I found and bought this. The price was also quite affordable for a real stained glass, metal wrapped lamp.
