There are a lot of details. The light is very nice and attractive. It was very well packaged against damage. The cap part is plastic but I love the 6 sided approach, some solar cell will always be pointe towards the sun. The bulb and batteries are replaceable and easy to get to, that's great, 5 stars so far. My pole is 2" but the previous light had an adapter, it worked fine with this light.There are a few things that detract a little. There are 2 small cap screws that hold the cap on, they are very small (would be easy to drop) but a spare was thoughtfully included, they work, it just makes me worry a little about theft, odds are no one will notice.The screws meant to attach the light to the pole are quite short in length and a bit of a joke. I don't know if the originals are metric but I subbed in 1 1/2" 8/32nd screws, one threaded right in, 2 of them I ran a tap through. No drilling required. I don't know if I forced a re-thread from metric (just screwing in a 8/32nd) or if a tap was the ticket. I wanted to use the tap anyway because I also threaded the pole (which did require drilling), that was a fairly minor inconvenience but I am much more comfortable that no one will walk up and with 3 twists of a screwdriver extract the light.The "manual" says to replace the battery every couple of years and refer to the parts page. The only parts page in guide doesn't list the battery number or for that matter what the bulb is. Another review noted the battery number (and I also have a photo of it). There are two batteries, each 3.7V, 2000mah, they operate in parallel so total capacity is 4,000mah. The bulb is 3.7v, E26 Base, the base is the same as a standard household bulb (obviously the voltage isn't).The light is nicely bright, spec'd as 200 Lumens. It sets fairly close to our house, direct window view and I consider it a little harsh, that's me, my eyes don't like staring directly at LED lights, end of the driveway it'd be no problem. OK, I might want a slightly softer light, but outside of 200 lumens there is no specification for the light, no printing on the bulb. I create a test rig, break out the clamp meter and measure the DC amps, the voltage is known, Amps * Voltage =Watts. It comes in as 0.39 amps. 0.39 amps x 3.7v = 1.44 watts. That is a pretty low wattage for a 200 lumen bulb, I'm not saying it couldn't happen but most sources list 2 - 3 watts for 200 lumens, it's likely this is 150 lumens of maybe a little less. No big deal, it's still bright for a solar light.Maybe my clamp meter is wrong, so I back calculate from stated specs. The Watt hours of the batteries is 7.2, x 2 batteries = 14.4 wah. Max runtime at full charge is stated as 12 hours. 14.4 wah / 12 hours = 1.233 watts per hour / 3.7v = .333 amps. Watts and amps are both within spitting distance of my clamp meter, so again, this is probably more on the order of 150 lumen, and again no big deal, I just wanted to know if I went looking for a softer light.Then I tried, another tact. I cut diffuse plastic to shape and set it in behind the panel in the light that was most pointed towards the house. I really like it, from an art deco standpoint it's not as nice, but from a night time looking directly at the light (with my eyes) I really like it, much softer; your eyes may differ. There is a night time photo showing one pane diffuse, the other as received but the photo doesn't really do the difference justice.It is a very nice solar light that got knocked a little for incomplete printed specs (no actual part numbers) and silly mounting screws. The spec's are known now, the bulb is available but not super common, the mounting screws were easily resolved, and as it relates to me, I have a way to pleasantly soften the light. A little bit of work, but I'd buy the light again.

Beautiful light and it casts a lot of light especially for a solar light. Only complaint is that the screws that connect the light to the base are too small to secure it to the base. It was all wobbly so I had to find some of my own to use and now it’s perfect.

TLDR: This checked ALL the boxes: replaceable bulb and batteries (18650), it's beautiful, large & very sturdy. Actual glass & metal. Doesn't look cheap & the solar cells aren't noticeable.Most of all it gives ~7 hrs(!) of bright light (it receives ~9hrs full sun). This replaced a wired lamp so I tempered my expectations, but I am very impressed so far.More details: I took forever picking this out. Cheaper lamps either have integrated lights, proprietary batteries, obvious and ugly solar cells, or low light. My other top picks were almost $200 which feels too much for a solar lamp, so 100 is the sweet spot. I wanted something that didn't look like, well, a cheap solar light from Amazon. I also didn't want to have to buy a whole new lamp when the batteries need replacing in a year or two. This replaced a wired light, so I tempered my expectations but it's been great so far and will be the brand I choose if I need anymore solar lamps!I also emailed their support for a question; they replied quickly, were very helpful and willing to give that help!I'll update in spring 2027 as to how it held up through a rough midwestern winter.

Easy to install, very nice/classic looking lamp. Ordered a second for another pole. The lamp gives off much more light than the led strip type, I like that this has a bulb and can be changed. Seems to be built well.

Fantastic lights. After extensive research we decided on the ShineSeed lights. Bought two. Cost a bit more than planned but well worth it in the end. Well made, solid and will likely last a long time. From the packaging we could tell this was a company that took pride in its products. Easy to install Worked the first day. Quite bright when on - and remain lit throughout the night. The definition of ‘dusk’ can vary between people - our lights come on when it’s fairly dark (not pitch black) but give good visibility when they do. We love them.
