This post light is light in weight but solidly built from aluminum.A casual inspection would give a convincing impression of glass windows and a metal housing but the entire upper housing of the light is made of aluminum. It has a textured coating that resembles coated metal and is completely rigid without any hint of flexing. There are a lot of seams where water could leak but a sealant has been applied to all of them.The lower half of the unit houses the electrical components and is made from actual metal as determined by a magnet.I would give the build quality 4.5 stars and the material quality 4 out of 5 stars.If the fixture was all glass and metal construction then I would give it a full five stars. This fixture looks like it should provide many years of trouble free service.Possible concerns include degradation of materials with exposure to sunlight, possibly causing the plastics to fade or the windows to discolor.This light fixture exceeded my expectations and I believe that it should provide at least a decade worth of satisfactory service.

The light itself seems well made and was packaged nicely, but unfortunately the glass globe was cracked when I opened the box.The fixture looks like it would be a nice addition once installed, with a solid build and attractive design, but the damaged globe was definitely disappointing.Overall, this JYZ outdoor post light appears to be good quality, but be sure to check everything carefully upon arrival.
