So far, so good! I bought this for my snake’s cage, hoping to add enrichment, humidity and use as an added water source. Built a bioactive terrarium/vivarium for my crested rainforest gecko. Wanted a fountain to cycle the water through the substrate and also act as a water dish for my little guy. This was perfect. I installed a 95 GPH pump in the substrate so it would have enough power to give it a 2.5 foot lift (I doubt the pump it came with would have the power for what I needed). I was able to connect the tubing of my pump to the original tubing of the fountain so aesthetically it would appear to function how it was designed with the water coming out and flowing how it is shown. Setting it up with the higher powered pump allows the water in the substrate to get filtered all the way through the system to clean and maintain the water, while allowing it to flow out of the front of the fountain so I don't have to ever clean my gecko's "water dish". It also maintains the humidity of my tank and waters my plants. I took netting and wrapped a ball of small rocks. I placed the ball directly under the front of the fountain going out a few inches. Then I put a small layer of soil over them and covered it with a plant that likes to be continually wet. The rocks allow the water to flow through without soaking the surrounding soil so that my other plants don't get overwatered.I hope all of this makes sense because this is the kind of info I was looking for when I was trying to figure out how to build my vivarium.I really like that this fountain looks very natural while also having the small "pond" at the bottom. I found it to be the perfect size for my tank which is 12x12x24. It's pretty quiet, a small tinkling like you are somewhat close to a small stream. With my tank door closed I can hardly hear it. If you are looking for a fountain for your tank, this is perfect in appearance and function!

This fountain is absolutely gorgeous! It's just the right size to use outside on my deck, in the summer, and inside on a desk or tabletop in the winter. I was impressed with how well-made and real it actually looks. The sound of the water flowing is so relaxing and the light effect is a great addition for the evenings. The setup was extremely simple and easy, so that in minutes I was able to enjoy this fountain. I do want to add that the first one that Amazon sent me was damaged and previously used. But, when I contacted Alpine Customer Service, they were absolutely incredible! Without any hassle or delay they sent me a brand new fountain to replace the damaged and used one that I had been sent by Amazon. I for one, find it comforting to find a company that stands behind it's products and delivers the kind of customer service that seems to have gone out of style today. If I could give Alpine 10 stars for their products and their customer service, I most definitely would. I would just like to add that I have since purchased three more fountains from Alpine, another 11", a 22", and a 41", all because of their great customer service.

Latest Update as of 10/15/25: Well the old fountain finally quit working. I was happy that it lasted as long as it did so I when saw the same fountain on sale I bought another. One thing that is different with the new model is the ability to disconnect the LED lights if you don't care for them. I personally thought they were much too bright for this particular style and had covered them by rocks with my old fountain. Yes, you can still physically see where the lights are located but that can be very easily covered. On the new model there is a separate plug for the lights and you have the ability to disconnect them if you want. Another update to the new model is that the pump seems to be stronger, and it truly gives out a trickling sound. People who work in my office building will come sit by it, they call it "The Zen Corner". I've added a 3rd picture of the new fountain with the lights unplugged. I did place a small rock over where they are located to cover them I absolutely LOVE this fountain and setup was so easy I had it setup & going in 5 minutes.UPDATE: I added back the last star because I have ran this fountain every single day since I got it and it has become the "Zen" spot for the entire office. LOVE THIS FOUNTAIN!!!This fountain is exactly what I've been looking for. It's beautiful, and with the pump at the highest level it gives off the perfect amount of water sound. I have only had it running for a few hours but so far I have not heard the pump at all. The reason I took off a star is because when it arrived the tubing that connects to the pump was not connected at all and no where in the directions did it tell me to do this. Thank goodness I have very small hands because the space inside was very hard to work in. Once I had it connected it worked perfectly. My friend came into my office and saw it and immediately asked me to send her a link to it so she can get one for her office.

I tried to get the sound of the fountain on the video but not sure if I captured it. The fountain is a tabletop and has a fairly bright light that mimics the grotto in a rainforest. It trickles down and there is a variable setting in the pump though you are supposed to set it at the lowest setting per the instructions and that's what mine is set at and ye it still looks like it a strong waterfall.The quality of the sculpt and paint is high. There is little assembly. Most taking the the cord out of back and making sure the pump is in the right place. It's all explained and there is I think a 24/7 help line so all is good plus you can text and email questions with quick replies. At least that's what the booklet that came with it said. I didn't have to ask a question so no verification on that.Overall a solid fountain.

I can't say enough about the Customer Service this company provides. They do everything they can to take care of whatever it is you need. I first purchased this beautiful fountain in September 2020. As per my first review, it leaked, and Alpine immediately replaced the fountain and did not require the first fountain to be returned. After several months, the light went out in the second fountain and I contacted Alpine. They immediately sent me a replacement part. However, it appeared that the light base was cemented into the fountain and could not be removed. I contacted Alpine and they immediately sent a replacement fountain. You can buy from this company with confidence that they are going to take care of whatever it is you need.I absolutely love this leaf fountain. Its like a piece of nature art in my home. It is on all the time. Its easy to set up, and adjusting the water flow and the sponge insert on the top leaf will get you the trickling water sound that you want.I purchased a second fountain in September for a family member, and hers has worked perfectly.

I've had fountains off and on my whole adult life, but had gone without one for a couple of years. I missed having one, so I started searching, and came across this one. I loved the design because it was different, and because it would go so well with my decor. However, I'm returning it for the following reasons:1. As soon as I unpacked the fountain, I was surprised to find that the color was very different from the one pictured, which is the color I wanted. It was a couple of shades darker, and I could barely see it where I wanted to place it.2. The water pump was in three pieces, even though it was wrapped, so I wondered if this was a used one. Fortunately, my husband was able to put it back together. The good thing about it is, it's completely silent.3. I couldn't get any kind of trickling sound, even though I put quite a few rocks in it, and put the pump on the highest setting. That has done the trick for lots of my fountains, but not this one.4. The opening in the back is too small. I have very small hands, and I could barely get my hand inside in order to place the pump properly.4. Last--but certainly not least--after about three hours, the AC plug got so hot that I could hardly hold it. I was afraid that this would be a fire hazard.I waffled between two and three stars, but gave it three for the following reasons:1. The design is beautiful.2. Some people don't care about hearing water trickle, so for them, this might be a good buy.3. Even though the LED light is way too bright, it can be disconnected easily. If I can figure out how to do it, anyone can.4. I didn't see any reviews in which the AC plug heated up, so I'll allow for the fact that I might have gotten a defective one.5. After I contacted customer service, they did get back to me after a couple of days. However, what they asked me to do, was not feasible for me. For others, it might be, and at least they did reply.This fountain might work for many, but, in good conscience, I can't recommend it. So, my search for a fountain continues.
