Heat kills the electronics in any LED bulb, ideally LED's go in a fixture that allows airflow in from the bottom and out from the top. Just an opening at the top or bottom does not help a lot. That said, we've been using 27W Sansi's in fully enclosed large schoolhouse style globes in a public hall successfully, just a couple failures out of a dozen bulbs over 3 or 4 years. Doing far better than expected, Sansi bulbs are engineered to allow air flow through the bulb, keeping the electronics cooler than bulbs shaped to look like an old style incandescent bulb.

I purchased this bulb several years ago and it worked beautifully in a open fixture over our kitchen table. The dimming worked well and the quality of light was comparable to an incandescent bulb -- not harsh at all.Several months back, the bulb began flickering occasionally, then began to dim over time. I reached out to the seller and they gladly sent a replacement. It's risky to expect perfection, but Sansi comes close with their combination of performance and customer service!

Super bright and works really well with my dimmer switch, one single LED light bulb can carry the brightness in the whole bedroom with regular lamp.

Our living room has no overhead lighting, so we rely on floor lamps. I had been using a compact 150w incandescent bulb, but it burned out. I found out that this particular compact 150w bulb I had been using was discontinued and any other 150w bulbs I found were too tall and rose above the edge of the reflector so that you burn your eyeballs when you look at the lamp.After a frustrating and unsuccessful search for a compact 150w bulb, I finally came across this compact LED bulb, supposedly equivalent to 150w incandescent, so I thought I'd give it a try.I have to say, this LED bulb is extremely bright - at least as bright, if not brighter, that my previous 150w incandescent bulb. It easily lights up the entire living room. It's also compact - about the size of a standard 60 or 75w bulb - so the entire bulb sits below the rim of the reflector so you're not scorching your eyeballs if you look at the lamp.So far, very happy with it.

This is a win win situation with the Sansi bulb soft warm. I have been using a 150 watt incandescent bulb by GE. The label on the GE bulb states 2680 Lumens of light and at a cost of $18.07 dollars per year based on only 3 hrs per day! Estimated life according to their label is only 0.7 years. I use the bulbs 8 hrs per day imagine the cost and short life. I cannot tell the difference in the light or the color of the light between either bulb. The Sansi bulb only uses 27 watts of power at a cost of $2.05 per year based on 3 hrs per day. The label states 2,500 Lumens. Bulb Life expectancy is 22.8 yrs. Will outlive me probably! I really like the bulb and will be purchasing more

This bulb is bright! The brightness, color temperature, dimming compatibility and form factor all worked great for me. The bald spot and price, not so much.My official rating is 4.5 stars.One issue I have, and I have this issue with most led bulbs, is the light production isn’t omnidirectional. There is a bald spot on top of the bulb. Not a deal breaker, but I wish it wasn’t such an issue. Another issue I have is the price. You are definitely paying a premium to get the features you want/need from this bulb.- I’m using a Lurton Maestro led dimmer and the bulb performs flawlessly.- I’m using the bulb in an enclosed ceiling fan fixture.- The A19 bulb size is great. Normally you have to get a bigger bulb to get this brightness.

Picture shows from left to right: 100w equivalent CFL->100w equivalent Philips LED->27w dimmable version of this LED->17W version-> halogen/normal size bulb.I purchased the 17w and 27w 3000K versions. Let me start with the 1 negative comment and one neutral comment: the light distribution is better than average, but not perfect. It's not omnidirectional like old incandescent bulbs, but its better than other high output LED bulbs I've used.The bulb dims well, but some people may not like that the color remains consistent, it doesn't get warmer/yellow like incandescents do.Now the good! Its bright and its compact! If you want to replace a 100-150w bulb, the 17w one works great. Its actually the size of a old lightbulb. They stay cool, except for the ceramic heat sink, which is fairly tucked away, but you still can accidentally touch it if you aren't paying attention, see pictures.The 3000K color is perfect in the house. It's just plain, normal white; not too blue, not too yellow.
