I had a really difficult time assembling this lamp shade, specifically getting the last hooks placed on the top and bottom rings. It’s nice it comes with a harp, but my lamp already has a harp/ finial that matches my lamp.I think the tall, narrow shape looks odd on my lamp. I have similar (same clip together) white shades for my lamp but a larger round shape which looks better. The tall barrel is unique but seems maybe too narrow compared to the base.I bought a set of two shades for only $10 more than just this one shade and I think the quality of the other shades is better.The linen color/ texture is nice, but when you turn on the light, the clips and overlapping fabric shows through and it appears discolored, almost rust stained. With the noticeable velcro seam along the back, these work best when they can be positioned against the wall where you wouldn’t see the seam.

This lampshade was delivered in a roll like a poster board. I thought that was pretty neat but then I noticed that the shade has dings and bends on it from being bumped and shoved (I’m guessing) and that bothers me a bit. My plan was to paint the shade so getting it in a way that allowed me to lay it out flat was pretty cool and it made the job easier than I anticipated. This is a pretty good lamp shade, the bumps and creases in the fabric aren’t going anywhere anytime soon but since I painted the shade, they’re practically invisible. I really like it, it worked out well and it’s taller than the shades I had previously. It has to be assembled of course but it’s all relatively simple and if you’ve ever seen a lampshade you can absolutely figure out what goes where. It was a khaki/beige color which allowed for plenty of light to shine through. It’s much darker now that it’s painted purple but it looks beautiful and gives the room the little pop it needed. I’m happy with it!

Good quality, but it is long / tall. It is awkward when you have to turn on the light.

I ordered this lampshade to use on a lamp I already have.It’s one of those types of shades that is shipped flat and you put it together yourself. They provide a direction sheet that can be of assistance if you have never assembled one before. It’s really easy to do, even if you’ve never done it before. AND, they also include a lamp harp, should you need to replace yours on your lamp, along with the shade. That is quite a nice bonus, if you ask me, and makes for a good value to add new life into a tired lamp.The “material” of the shade looks like natural linen fabric; kind of a creamy-beig-y tone with clearly visible woven details which give it a quality appearance. That is backed with a flexible white plastic material to make it firm, easy to handle and to disperse th light nicely.I would say this size of shade would work well for the type of lamps you would put on an end table or bedside tables, for example.The direction sheet seemed to indicate that they can be purchased in a set of two, as well.This shade was not quite the look I was after on the lamp I chose it for but I was able to take it back apart, roll it up and put it back in the box for storage! It isn’t that easy with traditional shades!I’ll be looking for a different sized lamp, maybe at a thrift store, to use this on.
