update - it was a bad wall switch! I had checked all the wire connections - they were fine. Went to double check because I am a bit ocd like that, moved the switch itself, the mirror lights quit flickering.Mirror is possessed. Worked great for 2.5 months. 2 days ago, the lights started flickering like I was in a techno club with the oonce oonce music. Defroster turns on and off by itself. The buttons get super hot. Will have to take this down so it doesn't start a fire. Honestly bummed, it worked and looked great before this started happening. Customer support answer - so barely an acknowledgment. 10 bucks is 10 bucks I suppose. It is now a really expensive big mirror.

36 " is big! Wish it was truly dimmable ,not just light colors. TOO BRIGHT FOR BEDTIME ,NOT bright enough for makeup.Have other options for those times. Otherwise it's beautiful! Arrived safely and makes the room.
