I've been updating my old house and needed new outdoor lighting (you can see the rusty, broken old one in my picture). I've been trying to blend modern with the historic nature of my home and area. I ordered these lights because they were the right size for the location and the bases were tall enough to go over brick and still be solidly affixed against the wall (as brick is not what I consider a smooth surface). The size worked out well and although I'll have to be a bit creative to cover a minor gap on the door side (not the light's fault...just brick and my door frame), it looks very nice. The coating or paint feels durable and I really love the matte black. The lighting is a warm hue which is perfect for the location it's installed (back balcony). I'm a little worried it's too modern for the front of my house so I'll have to look around the neighborhood and then decide if the second one will go on the front. Overall, installation was easy, even on my own, up on a ladder. My only negative is their instructions are lacking. I feel that for the price, they should really put a bit more effort into their instructions. Because I've installed plenty of lighting fixtures, it wasn't too huge of a deal so the 5 stars is based on the look, function, and ease of installation for me. But if you're not familiar with installing lighting, the instructions may (probably will) confuse you. I took one look at them and then ignored them.
