I wanted to try this bulb mainly because I love the idea of being able to change the light temperature, partly for gemological purposes and partly for aesthetics. It does a great job in that respect, going from very warm to cooler white. (According to the documentation the range is 2700K - 6500K.) The temperature can be changed along a continuum, which is great for setting it exactly where I want it at any time, but not ideal if I'm trying to replicate the conditions for viewing gems or taking photos.This bulb can also be adjusted in terms of brightness. I tend to prefer bright light almost all the time, but it is handy to be able to dim it (again along a continuum) for the occasions when I don't want it as bright, for instance when I'm on zoom but want some light.I'm rating this product 4 stars, because it was a huge ordeal to get the remote to work. I had to grab a second lamp in addition to the floor lamp I wanted to use it in, and go through at least an hour of trial-and-error before finally getting the dang thing to work. While the instructions aren't totally clear, I was doing what it said yet not getting the result that I should have. And yes, I know I can use it with an app instead, but I have no desire or need to set up and use yet another app just to control one light bulb.

You simply pair the remote with the bulb (instructions are crazy simple) but if you choose to use your phone instead of the remote that option is there as well.After using this bulb daily for almost two weeks I went back and purchased the 4 pack so I can pair the other bedroom lamp and two more lamps in my living room with this one and still have one extra bulb if needed. This remote and phone app allows for the pairing of four bulbs.So convenient for anyone who doesn’t use voice command apps to turn on and off lights.Also the cool tones on low have given so much ambiance to my bedroom.
