When I bought my house, one of the things I never loved about it was the wall sconce in the hallway. I've been looking to replace it for years. When I saw this one, I knew it was the one.When it arrived, I gleefully removed the old, tired sconce from the wall (and threw it in the trash) and began installing this beautiful new one. I was fortunate that there was already a junction box in the wall. The reason I say that is simple: this sconce is heavy. It's exactly what you'd expect from something with shades made of real alabaster. It does come with wall anchors for mounting directly to drywall without a junction box, but I sleep better at night knowing there's something more substantial holding it up.Installation was pretty simple. If you've ever replaced a light fixture, you can handle this. There was also one particularly thoughtful touch that I appreciated: a built-in hook that allows you to hang the fixture from the mounting plate while you connect the wiring. I can't tell you how many times I've struggled to hold a light fixture in place with one hand while trying to wire it with the other. Why don't more light fixtures come with this?To be clear, when it comes to the price, you're paying for the alabaster. And it's worth it. The stone gives the light a lovely tone and diffuses the included LEDs just right. Even with the lights off, the shades are absolutely beautiful.One thing I struggled with, however, is the size. Before ordering it, I took a measuring tape to the spot where I intended to mount it, and I thought I was okay. As it turns out, 14 inches is...substantial.My initial plan was to mount it vertically, but it barely fit below the ceiling. I then tried mounting it horizontally, which worked great from a clearance standpoint. My only issue with that arrangement was that, in a hallway, you can see the light source through the center of the shade. I ended up going back to the vertical mounting for now.Eventually, I'll probably move the junction box to make the proportions work better. That's work I'm willing to do, because this really is a beautiful light fixture.If you're looking for a wall sconce that's more than just a light fixture, something that's actually a conversation piece, this is certainly worth considering.

While I would ideally prefer a heavier gauge, this thickness is pretty standard for most fixtures at this specific price point and doesn't detract from the piece once it is securely installed on the wall.On a highly positive note, the manufacturer earns extra points for longevity and user experience. Including spare parts in the box—most notably a spare LED bulb—is a very nice, practical touch that saves you from hunting down proprietary replacements if something fails down the line.Final ThoughtsOverall, the quality of this sconce is exactly what you would expect—if not a little better—for the price point. The exceptionally thick, natural alabaster and the beautiful brass finish create a stunning visual, and the easy assembly combined with included spare parts makes it a highly recommended lighting upgrade.

This wall sconce is heavy and beautiful. You can really see and feel the natural alabaster stone, and every piece has its own unique pattern. The overall design looks very high end, and at first glance, the frame definitely gives you that solid brass look.However, I decided to test the frame with a magnet, and it did attract.That makes me question the claim that the frame is solid brass. It appears to be some type of magnetic metal, possibly steel or another material with a brass colored finish. If it is... then the price is too high...That was a little disappointing because the alabaster itself is beautiful and feels very premium.My main concern is how the frame will hold up over time, especially since it is supporting such a heavy piece of natural stone.Overall, beautiful and substantial looking sconce, but I would have preferred genuine brass for the frame if that's what is advertised.

In the spring I ordered a different Aiunci alabaster wall sconce and was delighted with the craftsmanship and quality, so I hoped this coordinating design would live up to my original, and it absolutely does.Very well constructed with a solid, brass base. The alabaster globes are beautiful, smoothly polished, and diffuse light beautifully.Very easy to assemble and install. Fits into any existing wall box via traditional wiring methods you'd use with any light fixture. Sconces fit on securely. The sconces are heavy, but the base is made soundly enough to support them without issue.This is the kind of lighting you get to last the rest of your life (or for a while, at least). It's really nice, high-end "keeper" hardware for you home.It is a bit of an investment, but over the long term, very reasonable for the high quality you get and the very upscale appearance.I'm super-happy with both my AIUNCI fixtures and will be on the lookout for more from this brand, as they delivered style and quality at a very modest investment for what you recieve.I would expect this higher-end quality item to be sold in an upscale catalog or department store. It's the kind of beautiful fixture I would have marked in the catalog and coveted for a while before deciding to order. Glad I was able to audition this one and have plans to order its matching twin very soon.

Picked this up for the wall on the hallway leading down into the basement. I wanted a diffused light that was softer than a stark bright one for that space. This is a very nice solid light. I installed it myself with no issues. I did put soft light bulbs in and also added a dimmer. This thing looks light it would cost a couple hundred dollars, it's that nice.Everything about this light I like....I highly recommend!
