I have been using the typical 2 tube 4 ft shop light for years. They worked pretty well but did clutter the ceiling a bit. I decided to try to clean it up a bit. I had several areas that were dark and decided to try these new 8 ft. LED fixtures. Their output was cleaner and brighter than two of the old 4 ft fixtures. I liked it so much that I replaced most of the LED light fixtures with these 8 footers. The shop is so bright! And they are more efficient than the older LED lights! So I am getting more lighter for less money! I am using the 5k color temperature versions. I will be using this supplier for all my shop light needs going forward!

But lo and behold, they all roared to life with a radiance that could rival a thousand suns - or at least provide enough light for me to finally find that missing screw under the workbench.Let's talk longevity. You see, most products have a shelf life shorter than my attention span, but not these lights! They've been shining on for over a year, enduring the countless times I've smacked my head on a low-hanging shelf (yes, I'm vertically challenged) and even surviving my terrible dance moves when I thought nobody was watching. I bought a 12-pack of the 8' 5000k tubes. It included mounting clips, screws, and short interconnect cables, short lightswitch-to-pigtail cables, and interconnect-to-pigtail cables. I hardwired everything to switch boxes because I already had light switches for the previous light fixtures.WOW! I should have switched to this kind of lighting long ago. Fortunately, I waited and the price is quite reasonable.I replaced the garage lights and the lights in a hobby room. The light is bright, clear, and a good color temp (although I prefer 6000k). The installation was easy, and the tubes are light though sturdy and rigid thanks to the aluminum spine.Criticism:There are only 3 mounting clips per tube. The tubes need 4-5 clips to ensure they stay snug to the ceiling. This is more for a "look" than anything else. Three is enough to hold them; they will not fall.The screws that are included are the wrong type for any mounting. I used my own drywall screws because the ceilings are drywall. If you are mounting to wood or metal, go buy the appropriate kind.NOTES:LED lighting is highly efficient; it runs of very little electricity. If you have the slightest bit of induction in your wiring job, you will have some LEDs that stay on - ever so slightly - when you turn off your switch. Do not freak out. It is OK.I did buy 50' of 18-gauge 3-wire to complete my wiring job. I ground everything.I do not hear any chirping or other sounds from this lighting, unlike some other types I have purchased.CONCLUSION:A good buy.

I like these 72w (8ft) LED lights enough that, after installing the first four - I bought another four. I used them in storage rooms and the garage of course, and these *could* be the best buy on Amazon... except for one serious flaw: the electrical plug pigtails are horribly short (as in 10" long), so by the time you strip the ends, wire them into a box or existing outlet and then get the pigtail out, you have MAYBE 4-5" of length to reach the light itself.The lights are BRIGHT, and are otherwise excellent workspace LEDs as they have very good throw. In a 16x15 workroom where I previously had three traditional 4 foot, 2-bulb fluorescent T5 fixtures that died (ie 6 T5 bulbs), I hung up two 8ft LEDs and it was so bright I didn't feel the need to use a third. These are certainly equal to or better than any fluorescent fixture I've used, much easier to mount and much cheaper. You do get a fraction of a second delay from flipping them on to actual light - which can be annoying in a way - but for the application and intent it's no big deal.Again, the only real consideration are how freaking short the pigtail plugs are! If they were 2-3 feet long, it would be fantastic. Same again for the connector plugs (to plug one light into another), they are also laughably short and should be 3 feet long to daisy-chain each light together in a more functional way.
