Love these step lights but we are choosing to use them on our new deck railing. Will repost when they are totally wired but installed, they are the perfect match to our afco porch railing in matte white finish. Couldn’t be happier. The builder was ecstatic with my pick!

Temp color selectable and they provide a good deal of light. Perfect for those dark stairs when you don’t want to turn on a whole room light but need to go safely down the stairs. These are good quality lights and are also aesthetically pleasing to look at. I had a unique application for them in my ice fishing house so that demonstrates how versatile these lights can be so don’t just think of them as stair or step lights. Anywhere you need a down light these will do the job. Other applications these could be installed on an outdoor retaining wall to illuminate your landscaping and light the way to the garage perhaps. I installed the one in about twenty minutes but that is also retrofit so it took a bit more time. If you are installing these for new construction it will be a breeze.I love these lights and to make it even better they are an excellent value at the price point!

These stair/deck lights are a nice blend of modern design, quality construction, and great value. I installed them on my deck stairs, and they really helped elevate the whole look of my backyard. It's also increased the safety and functionality for us injury-prone residents, who happen to slip on the stairs more often than I'd like to admit, since I can see the treads illuminated now.I really like the light temperature control toggle. I don't like cool toned light, so being able to switch between 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K makes it easy to adjust to your personal preference. I ended up choosing 3000K for a warmer glow, but it’s great to have the option.They’re energy-efficient (3.5Kw per light) and I haven't noticed an increased in my utility bill. They were also straightforward to install with a 12V system, and thankfully they are waterproof so I'm hoping I won't have to replace them for many, many years.Highly recommend if you’re looking to upgrade your outdoor steps or deck with something functional, stylish, and built to last. You really cannot find a better value, they are a great buy!

Update: we've had these installed for a couple months now and they are super duper bright! For our indoor installation in our hallway we actually needed to put some dimming tape over the light. They do also get fairly hot when lit for a while, which I wasn't expecting especially considering the low voltage. I have these attached to a smart sensor so they turn on automatically during night time hours when someone walks through the hallway, and they are doing a great job of providing floor lighting, but only since they are dimmed. Without the dimmer tape on them they basically light up the entire hallway. These might be better suited to an outdoor installation if you're not looking for bright lightsI'll update once we get these turned on, but the install process was mostly simple. These do require a separate transformer to get to the low voltage they require, but our electrician helped with that. They're well built and attractive, and they'll be easy to clean. These can be used indoors or outdoors, but we're using them for indoors and they suit our interior well.

This is a set of four outdoor step lights that provide lighting on stairs, both outside and inside, to protect people at night. It’s a low-voltage system, which means it’s easy to install yourself in-store, without dealing with high-voltage electricity. You need a standard 12 V low-voltage transformer; it can be either AC or DC, which is not included.The transformer is not included with this product and must be acquired separately. The product installs easily into a standard box. They describe it as in their instructions as a “standard combination box,” which is more frequently used for outlets, switches, dimmers, and things of that nature. It’s a vertical box about 2“ x 3 1/2 x 2.“ This fits directly into that box and connects easily with it, but that would require cutting into the wood or drywall where you are installing the light.Once again, the nice part about this installation is that you’re dealing with low-voltage wiring, so you’re not dealing with high-voltage wiring, which poses the danger of electrical shock. The lights last a long time, and once you cut the proper installation holes for them and put the devices there, they can be installed relatively easily. The installation of a “combination box,” which is now typically plastic, is relatively easy, whereas it used to be made of steel. The installation of these lights is relatively easy. You can thread your low-voltage wire under the stairway if you have access to it, or through the wall, which may be a little more challenging and involve snaking of cables.Cross, if you’re outside doing deck, that’s the most straightforward installation, and these are waterproof. They recommended that if you’re doing that, you should use a waterproof combination box with a rubber seal and apply caulking around the upper half to prevent rain from entering the electrical connection. Rain can severely damage low-voltage connections, whereas high-voltage connections tend to perform better in the presence of rain. Additionally, 12 V connections are an excellent product that enhances the safety of your backyard. Your backyard house stairs, your stairs on your deck, or your stairs in your home. These lights can prevent someone from falling if there’s an object on the stairs that they’re unable to see because it’s dark.

These are very nice lights. The drop right into singlewide junction box. The color adjustment is very nice, the switch even has a clear silicone cover to keep water out. These are bright enough to illuminate the ground well. They use 5w each. Plate is cast aluminum, i believe it is poelwder coated, but it may be heavy duty paint. Time will tell how the finish holds up, but they look very well made.

I can’t wait to get these installed because they are very attractive and obviously well made. Came packaged well and I really like that you can set the color temperature yourself. I always go warm if I have to choose when ordering but now I can use what actually works and looks best for my installation. The box lists very clearly that they are 12v AC/DC but the instructions were for 120v which caused a bit of confusion. Each fixture also has a positive and negative wire marked which is slightly confusing for a low voltage application as the polarity shouldn’t matter. All in all, very impressed with the actual product but the instructions and presentation of the electrical information had me second guessing. I would recommend using an electrician if you aren’t confident working with electric. We are planning on adding these to a hard scape retaining wall on a new patio for ambient lighting and I can’t wait to get these installed. Housing is attractive and well made and they look very high end. Overall a great value!

Nice lights work on 12V AC or DC. Tested all 4 on DC fine. 3 way slide switch Waterproof LED dimmness controller works fine.Only issue noted is the mounting system.Lights come with bolts and wire nuts and a mounting plate.Mounting plate screws to the outlet box and after wiring the light the light is pressed into the box until spring hooks (4 corners of light backside) engage and slide over mounting plate to hold it in place. Mounting plate needs to be orientated with edges close to front..Problem is once the light is clicked (4 corners) into place you cannot get it out of the outlet box without a screwdriver/crowbar bending or breaking clips or more to release.I trial ran the light to plate and unscrewing the clips underneath released it but no hardware is accessible once light is in the wall outlet box.Design went for a clean plate no hardware light look but forgot about removing or replacing when LEDs or ?? fail..
