They both have a drywall ceiling with surface mounted 4 foot florescent fixtures. One office has 6 fixtures and the other has 4 fixtures. The building was originally built in the 1940's has been remodeled several times since then. All the wiring is in EMT metal conduit.I decided to order 10 of the Sunco 2x4 LED Flat Panel Light Fixtures for this project. The Sunco panels matched all of my requirements and I have previously had good experience using Sunco LED bulbs and fixtures in our residential dwellings. I ordered a 1 pack, a 2 pack, a 3 pack, and a 4 pack from Amazon to receive 10 panels for the project.I needed very low profile, light weight, self contained units. They are 1.6 inches tall and weigh about 8 pounds each. The ceiling structure will easily support them. I ordered a 10 pack 2x4 foot Aluminum Frame surface mount kit in order to mount the fixtures to the drywall ceiling.I wanted selectable CCT ceiling panels. They have a small 3-way sliding switch to select between 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white, and 5000K daylight color. I found that 4000K cool white is my favorite color for the office.I didn't want the lights to be too bright and they needed to be dimmable. These fixtures also have a small 3-way sliding switch to select between 40,50, or 60 watts of power. These settings correspond to maximum light output of 5000, 6250, or 7500 lumens. The Sunco panels are also dimmable from 100% down to 10% with the right type of dimmer. They require 0-10vdc dimming which requires separate low voltage wiring for the dimming. I found the Lutron Diva DVSTV is Sunco approved and handles both the AC power on/off (3-way) and the 0-10v dimming in one standard wall unit. I needed 3-way on/off switching as there are two switches and two entrance doors for the larger office area.These Sunco LED panels are exactly what I was looking for! I can't wait to complete the installation.

I ordered a 4-pack of these to replace some very inexpensive and old florescent fixtures in my basement. I originally received the wrong color temperature range, but the company replaced them with a new shipment within a few weeks without any hassle.The panels are very light, so they should be easy to mount/hang. They are configurable for brightness based on the wattage (40W, 50W, 60W) and have 3 color temperature settings (3000K, 4000K, 5000K). I'm using these in a basement game area with a pool table and a ping-pong table, so 4000K looks the best in this application. See the comparison photos between the florescent and the LED.My ceiling is finished drywall, so I had to order some frames for these. The frames are not available from Sunco, so I had to order from a 3rd party. The frames interfere a bit with the metal connection box, but I made them work.Overall, these look much better than the florescent fixtures they will replace. They're a bit more expensive than other options, but for a small project, I think the extra cost is fine - they should be installed for many years without any issues.

I really like these LED Flat Panel Lights. They are thin, light weight, and perfectly sized. No more dealing with ballasts or LED retrofit bulbs. They also don't have the flicker that fluorescents have, but I am not sensitive to that, so I would suggest wiring up one to an electrical outlet and testing before you do a complete install and fine out you have an issue with these.Color temperature is very important. I prefer 5000K color temperature, which is a true white. 4000K starts to look yellow down to 2700K which is orange. A higher 6000K color temperature starts to look blue.These are dimmable, with a 50W output. I would strongly recommend getting a dimmer and have that flexibility at the wall switch.These are rated at 7500 Lumen; there are some of these that are rated up to 7700 Lumen.I am installing these in a church building and we are still evaluating and collecting feedback. So far no concerns and the brightness is an improvement.I am glad to see these in as many as a 5 pack so as to lower the cost.To date, I have not noticed any significant differences between brands.The model I would recommend with the most flexibility is the . Sunco lights are usually very solid, as I have quite a few different bulbs and types of lights from them. This pack gives you five large LED lights meant for drop ceilings. There are a couple of mounting options, but most people will use metal clips to secure these to a drop ceiling frame.They are individually fairly light for their size. The construction is plastic and aluminum for the most part. The back plate is light but sturdy. The control boxes are more sturdy metal with removable covers. Taking them off reveals wires that you can use to connect the lights.Light quality is very uniform. I haven't installed them yet but you can simply hook up an extension cord to a 120V outlet in your house. Very nice smooth light across the entire 2x4 diffuser surface.I can't rate longevity yet as I need to install a drop ceiling first.Photos to follow shortly.
